Nursery

At Alder Grove Nursery, we provide a safe and nurturing space where every child is encouraged to explore new concepts, develop key skills, make friends and prepare for their next step into school life. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, our staff plan activities that capture each child's imagination, build on their interests and challenge them through sustained shared thinking. We offer a wealth of first-hand experiences and enrichment across the curriculum to foster concentration and nurture a lifelong love for learning. Our nursery is an integral part of Alder Grove, and the children benefit from shared experiences with the Reception classes and the wider school community.

Aligned with the school's Vision based on Psalm 1:3: 'They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.' our nursery program begins the journey of nurturing children to grow deep roots. These roots help them develop confidence, curiosity, and resilience. We strive to create an environment where each child develops strong roots of understanding and empathy, which will help them flourish as they continue their learning journey.

Our Nursery is led by a qualified teacher, supported by a team of highly skilled Early Years Educators and Support Staff . Our staff are passionate about early years education and are committed to ensuring every child’s individual needs are met, while providing strong support for families.

The nursery is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility with 78 part-time places. We offer the universal 15 hours of free nursery education, which can be taken as 5 mornings or 5 afternoons per week. Additionally, we provide 30 hours of local authority-funded provision for working parents who meet the Government’s eligibility criteria.

We highly recommend booking onto one of our open mornings to see the nursery during a session. If you wish to apply for a place in the Alder Grove Nursery class, please click the link below to visit the admissions page.
